Making a start on the insect hotel

We finally managed to get a break in the weather and start our insect hotel. The vegetable and flower beds make a good start for our first attempt. The children really enjoy gathering the twigs, dried poppy seed heads and dry grasses. More to do when the weather improves (probably in September then).

Insect Hotels

We really like the idea of working closely with nature and one of the best ways to do this is to build an insect hotel in your outdoor living area. I just happen to have two wonderful helpers to make ours (aged six and four) and I will chart the progress on this blog.
